Simply Fun!

The first grade African music unit is such a fun one to teach! What really struck me this year, (and I talked about this with the kids)...With all the toys and games they enjoy, it was wonderful to notice how much fun they were able to have with simple things like a rock, shaker eggs, and a circle of friends!

Summer Resources for Music Kids

My Music Class Websites page on my website is a great resource for "rainy day" music activities for kids this summer!
If you are at all interested in purchasing software for your child, I recommend  The Groovy Music Series by Sibelius and Harmonic Vision's Music Ace. I have found the best prices on Amazon.com

Freddie the Frog

First Graders have Enjoyed Freddie the Frog books and games. They are really interested in the coloring sheets that can be downloaded and printed from the website!

First Graders will be wrapping up the year with an African music unit and completion of Sibelius' Groovy Jungle.
I have enjoyed them so much this year!  :)

2nd Graders' Energy Shines at the 10th Annual Energy Fair!

Thank you to all the parents who made sure their 2nd grader was there to sing with us at the Energy Fair!  So much fun!  I love these kids!!!!

First Graders Explore the Giant Treble Clef Staff
